As an NHL player, relationships haven’t been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that’s what happens when you require an NDA before the first date.

Until Charlene. She’s like a firefly. She’s elusive, and if you catch her she’ll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty.

I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I’ll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I've let her set the rules in our relationship.

But as long hidden secrets expose us both, I discover exactly how fragile Charlene is, and how much I need her.

We’re all broken. We’re all messed up. Some more than others. Me more than most.

  • What a great way to end the series

What can I say about Pucked Love? I feel like it was the absolute perfect end to the Pucked series. My heart is absolutely breaking knowing that Darren and Charlene’s story was the last one but wow oh wow did it deliver! I have wanted a story about these two since reading the very first book in the series Pucked. We waited (sometimes impatiently) to find out the story behind the pearl necklace and the Doritos and now we finally know. Darren and Charlene are two broken people who find their broken counterparts in each other. Darren wants to be everything for Charlene but he’s afraid to hold her too long for fear of spooking her. Charlene had been the relationship type either so they are both skirting major secrets about their past to avoid pushing the other away. There are plenty of great laughs and lots of sexual chemistry that nearly melted my kindle it was so hot! This is a MUST READ! TRUST ME!!!

While I am sad to see this series come to an end, I am not sad that it ended with Darren and Charlene’s story. These characters have been with us since the beginning, in fact I am pretty sure 100% of Helena’s fan base have been asking for their story from the beginning too and she did not disappoint. The chemistry between these two was well written, I enjoyed reading how they interacted with each other. The dialogue was really fun to read, Helena knows how to make this reader cackle out loud and cry silently all in the same book. It was great revisiting other characters too and seeing how the group has grown and changed over the course of a few years, which is important because it mirrors how real life works and that’s relatable. Looking forward to what the future brings in terms of new books to read from Helena!

I absolutely loved this story. Darren and Charlene have an odd relationship but it works for them. Reading this had me wanting to grab my pearls and put them on while eating Doritos.
  • Disappointing end to an amazing series

I’m leaving five stars because I love Helena’s Pucked series. But I really hated this finale. Spoilers ahead... Charlene and Darren didn’t make any sense to me. I was excited to find out about their relationship and was okay with it being not what it seemed, but I’m not sure what it was. They kept referring to things being different now, but we never saw how they were and what made their relationship or sex life different from anyone else’s. It wasn’t weird at all, so it didn’t make sense that they acted like it was a big secret. There was no explanation for Darren wanting an NDA (he didn’t want anyone to know who his parents are? But no one did) and there was no explanation for why they didn’t want anyone to know about their pasts, because they didn’t really seem all that messed up. They actually have so much in common that it’s outrageous, but it never struck them as a coincidence? It was so absurd that it could have been funny, especially since their parents have the same sort of outrageous careers, but I thought they were pretty boring in the end and that was such a drag :(. They referred to Charlene as a firefly and Darren not wanting to put a lid on her jar so many times I wanted to roll my eyes. I wasn’t even sure what it meant, since she never reacts negatively to their relationship and neither does he. We have to literally be told that she is scared to be tied down because she never actually seems scared. They both have messed up pasts but they don’t seem messed up, we are just told that they are. There was sooooo much potential here for more development, such as Charlene thinking Darren needed a certain type of relationship, and him thinking the same about her, and it being a long two year misunderstanding. I thought this is where it was going since he seems to like her in normal clothes and she is surprised by that, but it never happens. Instead they are just oddly formal and don’t really seem to have personalities. The best part of the book was seeing the other characters, Lily being excited by the sex toys and Sunny being scandalized and confused. I’m off to read the other books again and end with them. I hope others like this one more!
  • What a finale!

Oh how I love this series!  I am gonna admit, knowing this is the last, I cried a little. (And pray that maybe Ms. Hunting will give us peeks of this gang in the future)
Oh Darren and Charlene! I have waited forever for their story and it was soooo worth the wait!
Their relationship works for them, until it doesn't.  Reading about them navigating into a new coupledom was perfection.  Their broken pieces fit together.
And oh holy hell, both Darren and Charlene's past! Ms. Hunting really put me through the wringer!
I think Darren's backstory surprised me the most!  I would highly suggest sitting down when you are reading this, because it's gonna knock you out! And just as surprising is Charlene's!  How these two became the people they are today is a testament to their inner strength!
And of course you get the humor, the laughter and the joy!  You get to see all the past characters in this story! It's like a mini family reunion and it's was fabulous to see what everyone has been up to!
I am so glad that Darren and Charlene get their happy ending! I think they deserve it most of all!
Thank you for writing this Helena! You are amazing! The worlds you create are epically funny and epically real!
