Summary

Morality and God’s Love is the sixth-semester course (second semester in year 3) in the new high school series Live Jesus in Our Hearts. This series takes a fresh approach to the framework outline with an in-depth use of Scripture, an evangelizing approach in introducing key topics, and new student book features for student learning and review. And consistent with the Lasallian educational tradition, extensive resources—both written and digital—are included for the teacher. Morality and God’s Love studies Christian morality, starting with its biblical foundations. Drawing on texts from both Old and New Testaments, it shows that Christian morality is rooted in the sacredness of the human person and Christ’s Law of Love. Inspired by Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, the student book explores the important values that underlie each of the Ten Commandments: faith, reverence, holiness, respect, honesty, integrity, justice, the sacredness of life. To drive these values home, each chapter includes an excerpt from Pope Francis’s teaching on the Ten Commandments and a short case study inviting students to apply these values to their life.
