God’s Lunatics is an eyebrow-raising encyclopedia of the strange and shocking side of history’s religions, cults, and spiritual movements, by Michael Largo, the bestselling author of the Bram Stoker Award-winning Final Exits. A fascinating compendium of “Lost Souls, False Prophets, Martyred Saints, Murderous Cults, Demonic Nuns, and Other Victims of Man’s Eternal Search for the Divine,” God’s Lunatics contains a wealth of valuable extreme spiritual information—including the number of exorcisms performed each year and the proper method for identifying the Antichrist.

I can't think of a single spiritual belief system that has been left out in this book. Great reading if one would like to know a bit more about the origins and beliefs of the world's religions. Foibles and brilliance make for an entertaining and information packed read.

Michael Largo nobly succeeds at making sense of the long and senseless trajectory of mythology...by organizing it encyclopedically! Brilliant! Pick it up as a reference volume or read it straight through for fun. He proceeds methodically and democratically, zigzagging across millennia in order to give us the straight dope on the basics and esoterica alike of what ultimately comprises the fabric of humanity's greatest fear: oblivion. What more can you ask for?
