  • Long winded on the past

The story of Tommy and Mandy was too drawn out. I actually skipped through pages of the past. Very boring. The beginning had some story errors in using the last name of Foster for Helen. It was corrected but definitely stood out as an error. Overall not the ending, if it is, to the series I was looking for.

The Lookback is a beautiful ending to a series that pulled me in from the start. The development of the characters, especially Helen’s growth, was lovely to see. I loved how this particular book showed us young Mandy, and the conclusion was everything I wanted.
  • A HEA ending to a great series!

This book had a bit of everything, and everyone, from the Birch Creek Ranch series. It mostly focused on Mandy Saddler, her teen years, her loves/almost-loves, and her eventual love. There was a lot of Helen and her relationship, too. Everything in Manila moves as slow as molasses until it’s time to go from dating to engaged to married to babies, which seems to happen shotgun style there! Everyone gets their HEA in this book, even a superstar singing sensation. No big tragedies for the main characters and any little scares end up totally fine, so if you want an entertaining, uplifting read, this one is great!

B.E. Baker has done such a beautiful job of bringing The Bequest series to an end with this book. I know it was more intended to be mostly about Amanda Saddler, I loved that we still got a few chapters from our beloved heroines. It was fun to find some Easter eggs to another series from Bridget E. Baker also. I feel we got good closure from all our main characters. Definitely recommend to is book and the series as a whole!
  • Not exactly what I was expecting…

First, this is the last book in this series and it may stand alone ok but you’ll get so much more out of it if you read them all in order! Second, total honesty here, I was a little put off at the beginning because it changed the way I had imagined the relationship between two characters. BUT I was won over by the end and I ended up loving it! It wraps up the loose ends of the many storylines through this series beautifully and I still think this is one of the best series this author has written!
